 Description

Ferrosilicon 75 (FeSi 75) is an alloy consisting of iron and silicon, with a silicon content of around 75% by weight. FeSi 75 is typically produced through a submerged arc furnace (SAF) process, which involves the following steps:

Raw Material Preparation: The raw materials for producing FeSi 75 include high-purity quartz or silica, coke or charcoal, and iron scrap or pig iron. The materials are carefully selected and screened to ensure uniform size and quality.

Furnace Charging: The raw materials are charged into a submerged arc furnace in the required proportions. The furnace is lined with refractory materials to withstand the high temperatures and chemical reactions that occur during the process.

Reduction Process: The furnace is then energized to produce an electric arc between the electrodes and the charge. The high temperatures generated by the arc melt the charge, and the carbon in the coke or charcoal reduces the silica to silicon, while the iron in the charge combines with the silicon to form the FeSi 75 alloy.

Alloy Tapping and Casting: Once the reduction process is complete, the molten FeSi 75 is tapped from the furnace into ladles or molds for casting. The alloy is then cooled and solidified before it is broken into smaller pieces or crushed to the required size.

Alloy Refining: In some cases, the FeSi 75 alloy may undergo further refining to remove any impurities that may affect its quality. This is achieved by using specialized refining processes, such as ladle refining or vacuum refining.

Packaging and Storage: The final product is then packaged in 1 MT big bags or other suitable containers and stored in a dry, well-ventilated area until it is ready for shipment.
